Rearview Mirror is a narrative video game set inside a car, an exciting first-person thriller that unveils its secrets as you interact with passengers through the rearview mirror and drive through the streets of a hostile, corrupt city.
Hold tight to the wheel…
Salvatore Marino, the protagonist of The Rearview Mirror, was drawn into the criminal world during his youth and ended up in prison for not betraying his comrades. Now, twenty years later, he’s back on the streets, hoping to rebuild the relationship he lost with his wife and daughter. Salvatore wants to start over and lead a decent life, far from the world of crime.
However, reality has other plans, and Salvatore quickly learns that no one wants to hire an ex-convict. The only job offer comes from his old comrades, who assure him it’s legal and straightforward: drive a nice car, pick people up, and drop them off somewhere else… a simple job as a driver. Out of desperation and with no other options, Salvatore accepts, but he soon discovers that the passengers he’s transporting are involved in shady dealings that slowly start to drag him back into trouble, turning his life into a new road to hell.
The Rearview Mirror is about redemption and second chances. Can someone who made bad choices repair the damage they’ve caused? Can they correct their path? Leaving the past behind is up to us, but any place you can’t escape from is a prison, and everything has a price.
